Different wheel sizes on C5...Why??

Different wheel sizes on C5...Why?? Hoping to see if someone can tell me the reason of Chevy putting 17s on front and 18s on the rear of the C5.Just curious if there is an advantage to this?

Re: Different wheel sizes on C5...Why?? I beleive it was mainly for styling reasons. There's a good book called "all corvettes are red" that you should read if you are interested in why things are like they are (even mentions the infamous ls1 oil pump issue, long before the car shipped!). At one point it was gonna be all 18's, then all 17's, and somehow it ended up being a compromise of 17's and 18's for looks. Maybe its to make the rear look smaller compared to the front since the C5 has a big ***.
