HUD question

HUD question Would it be possible to put a head's up display in a vette that didn't originally come with it? I'm looking at very clean 2000 FRC, it's perfect excecpt that it doesn't have HUD. How much of a PITA would this be? Thanks.

First of all you must have a car with the HUD enabled cluster. The 97's and 98's didn't have it, you should be fine since you have an 00. The hardest thing about the install is taking the dash apart, and cutting it. The parts you will need are: the HUD projector, dash bezel, switch, and 11 Pin from the switch to cluster. All in all these parts are around $300. There is a detailed installation guide over at the corvette forum. Typically it takes 4-6 hours for the install. The corvette's with factory HUD have a specially tinted windshield (~$800), however the HUD displays just fine on the standard windshield. Good luck, you will love the HUD.
