c5 stereo reciever

Yes; if the factory headunit has an "AUX" button - then there is a L/R audio input to the radio... kinda... sorta... let me explain.
The factory headunits AUX input is designed for GM's rear mounted CD changer. The radio will not accept L/R audio from this input unless it establishes a serial-data-link with the CD changer.
If you are like me and own a C5 without the rear mounted CD changer, then you can buy a device that tricks the headunit into believing there is a valid CD changer connected to the radio. This then enables the L/R AUX input on the headunit.
here is one such device: P.I.E. GM10AUX

I am using the PIE adapter and playing a hard-drive based MP3 player through the factory headunit.

I am using the BOSE interface from one of my sponsors, works GREAT. PM me if you want more information. Not sure what you're trying to accomplish but I could give some advice on how to get there. HTH...
