2005 2006 C5 transaxle case

2005 2006 C5 transaxle case I have a friend that exploded his rear transaxle, gear, and left side mount. If anyone knows of a place or a person I can contact besides a dealer, please leave info here or PM me. The dealer wants to sell a whole new rear assembly and that costs over $2,800.00 not including the R & R.
A C5 style 1997-2004 will not work in the new C6's. I have one out of a 1999 and thought it might bolt up but it will not. A few extra bolt holes and ribbing along the tp of the case with a diferent back section is the only thing different. Thanks in advance Scott K.

Check out vette2vette or geneskarshop. Are you looking for a used C6 rear axle, etc.? You may find someone has a wrecked C6 but highly unlikely and you may pay a premium.
