How fast is a C5 Z06????

How fast is a C5 Z06???? Disclaimer (there seem to be some sensative people on LS1Tech 
):Let me start by saying I'm just finding out info, not dissing or downing anyone or anything 
With all the talk about the C5 Z06 latley and the post of this article 11.97 @ 118.80mph
Now I'm NOT doubting the validity of the article. But how many other totally STOCK C5 Z06's have actually acheived this?
Is it:
a) Not to difficult and fairly common place
b) Pretty darn rare just like Fbodys clocking 12 second ET's stock
c) One time only, with this article being the only reference for such a time

Most bone-stock or nearly so 2002+ C5 Z06s I've seen run in the low 12s. I have seen a few run in the high 11s as described, but I would say that they are the exception to the rule. I would say that a great track with great weather, and an equally great driver are required for a stock Z06 to break into the 11s.
I will say this. A bone-stock F-body is no match for a bone-stock Z06 as the latter is typically a solid second or more faster in the 1/4 mile. A 2002+ Z06 with a halfway decent driver can run 12.0-12.3 runs all day long. My bone-stock A4 1999 Camaro SS ran 13.70s and very few stock F-bodies hit the 12s.

It takes an abnormally good driver to run a sub 12 second ET on the stock tires.....BUT
A C5 Z06 is fairly easy to get in the 11's with a decent tire...The 02's and up usually trap anywhere from 116 to 118 MPH at sealevel, and will 60' quite well with a tire. My car weighs in less than 3100 pounds with no weight reduction....
