Mid pipe ?

Default Mid pipe ?

I know this has probably been asked alot, but I searched and no luck. I want to know what mid pipe, x pipe, h pipe, do I have to get to get rid of the conveters? I know on a mustang or you can just by a h pipe or x pipe. But I looked on the vette and found one, but it says it connects to the factory converters? so whats the deal with this. Thanks, Jeff

Bassani makes a off road x that will replace the cat and connect to your stock h pipe, I paid 350 or so for mine. Tbyrne has them on their web site. This style x connects to your stock manifolds.

The H-pipe is for sound control and popping on decel. The X-pipe is usually used when the cats are bypassed and the cats and h-pipe are removed as a unit. Removal is worth about 5-7 engine HP.

I will probably order the mid pipe, and just gut the cats. Thanks for the info

I'd leave the cats on if they are the original factory cats as they really don't detract that much on performance, except under the most extreme conditions. You don't have the "pup" cats to deal with so leave them on and get an "X" pipe to reduce some resonance if you like. What mods do you have on your car and what do you plan on doing next?
