Default 97 C5 Auto trans fill, need quick help-(picture)

Just buttoned up my torque converter install, while I was at it, I drained the tranny and installed a new filter. I'm about to fill the trans now and want to verify that this is the fill hole on the trans. In the picture, is it the bolt above the shift linkage with the black marker line on it? This picture is of the driver side looking forward. Thanks.

not farmiliar w/ c5 automatics but if you get a small funnel you can usually fill it through the tranny dipstick tube.... its big enough right?

I would say that is it, if there are no other "plugs" about mid-level from bottom to the top of the trans. Only a little fluid should leak out, if it pours out - you have too much in there. If none leaks out, add some. HTH.

Got the answer the Corvette Forum. It's the large plug on the transmission pan. But thanks for the replies though.

No, even though it's the same transmission, there is no dipstick on a C5 Corvette.

THat plug in the picture is where you check fluid pressure w/ a gauge. The big bolt in the side of the pan is where you add fluid while engine is running. I use an air powered trans fluid gun so you'll have to use a hand pump probably. Total fill is 11.8 Qts I think. Good luck.....

Thanks for the reply. I got some bad advice from a couple of "experts" earlier. I did buy one of those hand pumps from West Marine. I'm not sure how many quarts it will take, I also added a 28,000 B & M trans cooler. I'll just keep adding until it's full. Thanks again.
