Yea I have to agree...My car is 370 rwhp with just factory heads and an air intake and cam. Pretty sure I could throw on a 150 shot and dyno 500 rwhp right now...

Go to the track and run 11's in the 120's on a car that drives just like stock..

Another thing is that bone stock STI's hit 145 mph for a top speed. C5's hit 170-175 mph ( depending on Z06 or coupe) for a top speed bone stock...Just by getting your rwhp to 350 in a C5 coupe will mean a top speed of 185 mph..400 rwhp and your close to 190 mph..500 rwhp and your C5 coupe will be able to hit the 200 mph mark..I know this has little to do with straight line performance..

but you should see how fast peoples mouths shut when you tell them that your car could do 170's bone stock and is now in the 180..190's or even at 200 mph after modding...

The aerodynamics of the C5 and coefficient drag are one of it's biggest bragging rights in my honest opinion...When you get into debates with top level cars..ferrarris/Lamborguinis ect....They will talk a lot more about top speed than 1/4 mile performance. With the C5 platform you get to bragabout everything..

handling/straightline/topspeed/prestige/chickfactor/

The STI is awesome straight line and handling wise but falls short on the prestige/topspeed/chick factor

Just to add, when my 99 was stock,i beat a Sti at the track,(the regular WRX is not even on the same planet)it did take a bit to catch the STi because our track is unprepped, and i have to leave the line at idle and baby the pedal until second gear,i just nipped him at the end, flying bye about 5 mph or so faster than him,and i know he at least had some kind of blow-off valve mod,a good track i would have won easier,he must have waited for me outside, because on the freeway he came out of nowwere showed up next to me at 60mph.He tried to jump me,i pulled away pretty quik, when i was at 145mph i had to slow down, but dude was quit a ways back.Theres some f-body LS1s that run a 100 shot with E.T. street slicks, and the motor loves it.
I have tons of 1/4 miles on my car now,iv'e only had to replace a couple light bulbs and a door module..
On the road coarse here, the zo6 was absolutly blowing the RXs off the track...looks ...vette easily...top speed of a stock c5 auto with 3:15 gears,178mph.Resale value....looks...i dropped mine 3 1/2 inches, the c5 takes on a whole new look..Heres mine, these are old pics,i'm not stock anymore though.
It should be a easy call homie...
