Default 99 FRC Deal

I haven't posted much but have read lots. My questions pertain to: It look as I will be purchasing this sat. a 99 FRC with 38k miles, white w/black int. ported LS6 heads w/intake, TPIS throttle body and headers, stock 405 hp cam, borla x1 exhaust, under drive pulley, new slotted brakes and new tires. Some other minor stuff also. The car made 415 rwhp with this settup and easy 26 mpg. The funny thing is that I was originally paid to build this car and now I may buy it. Is $20k reasonable for this car? I just want to make sure that my expierience with this car isn't clouding my judgement.
Thankyou for your input.

If it's in great shape and no mechanical problems, that is a great deal. Take it.

Thanks for the support guys. Ive known the car since new and I have been the only one to touch it except for oil changes so I think I'm doin pretty good. What are stocker FRC going for? The car is near perfect except for small wear and the chrome on the wheels is so so.

If you get the white, it's a rare color man. I have one, my friend has another. They made 311 in 2000 and i think 317 in white in 99. My numbers may be a little bit off though.

However,...415 rwhp with the stock cam,...I dunno.

The dyno I saw first hand and I installed the parts. I had Jim at Speed Inc tune it and he even seemed a little impressed.

I believe they were SDPC CNCd heads and I used the stock rockers. But that was about 2 yrs ago. I also know it has updated head gaskets when I did the job. 99s had different head gaskets stock if I am correct.

I bought my 99 FRC last august, stock w/ B&B catback, 85k miles for $20k.

One friend got his 99 FRC about 14 months ago, stock 55k miles for $18k.

Another friend got his 99 FRC about 3 or 4 months back, stock, 60k for $17k.

All from private sellers.

Keep in mind all three of us spent several months looking to find the best deal possible at the time, and one friend went all the way to vegas to get his, so yeah, thats a pretty good deal.

I swear like 80% of all 99 FRCs are pewter from what I saw when I was looking.

Buy that car NOW! You can De-mod it and still get more than $20,000.

InsomZ- nothing is wrong with speedway white I think its cool because how different it is.. I (as many on this board) like to be different. I am not very familiar SW is probably the most rare color Z06 right? Its gotta be one of those love it or hate it colors I'm sure.

Since my artic white frc was recently totaled(but they haven't picked it up yet) due to a freak clutch failure,....i've been in the market for another FRC.

My friend has a white frc with 100k on the clock, looks almost as good as mine did, except for some front and rear bumper stress cracks.....no big deal. He told me he would sell it to me for 15k. Its stock except for intake and exhaust.

I figured I would take off my front and rear bumpers, and swap it with his car. As well as my wheels...etc etc.

The price is soo right, I have to buy it. I spent 24k for mine back in july.

V sorry to hear about that clutch problem. This car will probably need a clutch soon, still stock, I was thinking about finding a light weight flywheel, opinions? I figure a little spray, a new clutch, and a Z06 trans and it would be a decent driver. Then to finish my LS2 (turbo?) 94 Z28 race car he,he,he,he

Is anything salvagable off your total? I've had a couple friends total cars and had them buy back the wreck from the insurance so we could part it out. Always came out on top.

Thanks. You can't go wrong with spray man,...do some bolt-ons, easy stuff. Long tubes are expensive but, we'll worth it, even if it's your last mod other then tuneing. There are alot of companies out there, all great, I chose Lg's...and made sick torque. I'm not 100% certain of my next clutch I put in my car but, you can be sure, i'm gonna try and put a kevlar blanket, or something over the bellhousing.

Get yourself some spray, tires, and the car will be hard to beat.

Hope you get the car,...enjoy it man.

I've already taken my speed parts off the car, hid's,DTE brace, etc etc. So THAT part is handled, except for cam, optima battery, brakes.

My friends car, is like I said before, not as clean, paintwise but, only on the front and rear bumpers. I do want to swap this stuff out.As well as the seats.

The first thing I did was ask the insurance company how much it would be to buy it back, and it's been a three month ordeal, and I still don't know the answer. Stressful ****. And it's my daily driver.

So,...I am supposed to know today, what the deal is.
