Default Flowmaster for the C6

I was wondering if anyone knows anyone that has used this exhaust yet.

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/pr...oducts_id=4050

My Dad was wanting to get an exhaust catback for his C6 and I was wondering if anyone knows how this setup sounds. He wants his louder but not obnoxious.I know Flomasters have always sounded good.I just dont know about this one or how it flows.

I tried to get him to add a couple of cutouts, but he isnt having that.He doesn't want to cut up his stock exhaust. He was looking at the Borla, but I just came across the Flowmaster,so any feedback would be helpful. Its like $350 from Summit and $415 from Jegs.I'm going to check and see what some sponsers can get it for.

I'm going to put this in the external section as well.

Don't put a flowmaster on a vette brother. Just wasn't ment to be.

Not unless it's a race muffler or something. Your better off buying two bullet mufflers and haveing them welded into place of your stockers.

If it was mine I wouldnt.Like I said my Dad is just looking for something with more of a rumble. For the most part Flowmaster systems sound good. He's pretty set on the Borla,I'm just not a big Borla fan.

I told him to put on a couple of bullets and to just leave his cats.Or that I would weld in a couple of E-cutouts.He doesnt want to chop up his stock exhaust.I tried to get him to just let me cut off his mufflers but he wasnt having it.Anyway if someone has actually heard the Flowmaster or knows where a soundclip is,let me know.

Borla sounds good, B&B sounds great.

Why are you not a big borla fan?....they're on more race cars, then any other brand in the world. Borla is pretty badass.

I have heard flowmasters on a C5,..wouldn't recommend it.

just my opinion,...which don't mean jack.

I guess I just think its way over priced. Most people get adjustable ones and then never have it capped. Its like a $1000 cut out.Even though the quality/looks is there if your not going to use it as a muffler, why buy it?

Yeah, but i'm guessing your compairing the F-body borla setup, compaired to the corvette borla setup.. Completely different, and I understand where your coming from.

The borla stingers, arent cheap, but, the B&B is a little more affordable, i think.

maybe www.ls1sounds.com will have something on there.

The flowmaster,...just isn't a great choice man. Not knocking them, cause I did have flowmasters on my 88 Gt mustang, when I was 16. Just not on a vette big dawg.

Yeh,I agree.I've never had a Flowmaster,I've just heard them on a few cars.I know Vette and Flowmaster dont go hand-in-hand but I just didnt know what it sounded like or if Flomaster was catching up with the other brands. My Dad's pretty set on the Borla,so I'll just have him get that.

I agree with my dad sometimes about being too loud.I'm only in my 30's and its gets old to me sometimes as well.Thats what I tried telling him my cutout is for!

I've got Borla Stingers on my 02 Z06 and LOVE the sound. It's deep and rumbly - a perfect combination for the vette. It also makes it sound a little bit more exotic.

Check around for some GP's on some of the vette boards. I just got the GHL rear section for less than $900 bucks and they sound GREAT with LG headers
and no cats. Little loud but that would be with no cats. Nice deep tone.
