Default ran 1/4 mile today at the rock

finally got to run 1/4 mile , kind of hot outside only made two passes it was a mustang event !hahaahha anyway with kooks headers, kooks x pipe , bfg drags 15lb air and comp cam i ran 1.67 60' 11.52 1/4 and 120.46 mph this is with a 12 inch sub , box and amplifier in back. i actually raced another z06 i believe an 01 car , his ran pretty good for just a stock car. and of course i smoked a mustang .

So as far as internal engine parts all you have is a cam? No head work? Impressive!

What is the most effective launch technique?

nope everything still stock of course car has hardened push rods , good springs, but stock rockers, no head work , only kooks header, kooks x pipe, flowmaster c5 kit, vararaam filter, no gear ,no shifter . i tried the 6000 launch like j rod but it didnt do as good as i would have expected, i still run stock clutch and believe it or not it didnt slip at 6000 on bfg drags with only 15lbs . i have been launching at 4000 rpm while slipping clutch a little and it performs well, but the best so far is just getting rpms up to 4200 and dropping clutch real snappy , and car has ran very consitant 1.67 60 ft times several times over and over. on stock f1's it does better slipping the clutch at 3800 and best i could get was 1.77 60 ft on bone stock motor j rods 6000 launch faired well as i ran the other pass at 1.68 60ft but overall time was just a bit slower, i only got to run car two times yesterday but j rod has been running the 6000 launch more than me so i will just have to keep trying different things.

Wow.....6grand clutch drop and the diff was fine? Are the z06 diffs the same as regular C5's? If so I have new found faith in our rear end.

yes, w/ the exception of the shot peened 3.42's, the tag will have 3.42sp on it, usually DR users will install the LPE left output shaft and DTE brace

^^^ Blah so I am still screwed when I go to launch on the stock rear end. I was only going to baby it to a 1.8 60' anyways.

What's up man. Glad you got to make some passes. Those are some nice 60fts. I think I could have cracked the 11.0x range if I could have gotten my 60ft's down like yours. My BFGs won't hold much more than a 4,000 clutch slip with 16lbs hot. Try Fayetteville next time. I got the blower on and am getting the clutch and out put shaft and a better tune for more boost done at the end of the month. So I will be down for the track any time in April. I would like to see your car run.

Later,
Brett

Nice 60 times. I would get a shifter and get rid of that flowmaster
