C5...bad synchro's? Just installed hurst shifter, front and rear screws cutout screws are removed. I'm having trouble going into second gear 1 out of ~30 shifts. Once yesterday it grinded when I put it into fourth gear. I'm starting to get kind of worried... Trans fluid has just been changed to amsoil. Problem remains. This did not happen at all when the stock shifter was in. Few of my buddies said that if I am shifting at low rpm points it might grind due to things not moving very quickly/not enough time to line up. I think this is kind of BS. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm thinkin a trip to the dealer with my warranty in hand might be the next step. |
make sure you have the shifter stops adjusted correctly, as well as proper spring tenion, there should never be free play with the shifter, constant spring tension. |
could also be a clutch problem, do you hammer the car all the time? |
i noticed BETTER shifts after my hurst install. There must be another problem happening. |
