I was thinking on getting my Wife a new vette and was wanting to see the dyno numbers between the 2005s and the 2006s. Especially the new A-6 tranny diff. I was contimplating on a low mileage 05 or do I get a 06? Also what options can we live without, we really want the Nav. system.

The problem with comparing dyno numbers on the A6 Corvettes is that they don't have a 1:1 ratio in their tranny. Whenever you dyno a car, you always dyno it in the gear which has that ratio. So a manual car you'd dyno in 4th and an automatic car you'd normally dyno in 3rd. However, with the new 6 speed auto in the Corvette, it's 4th gear ratio is 1.15 to 1 and it's 5th gear ratio is 0.85 to 1. So this will skew the dyno numbers.

I believe you may have something there. I asked because I have been searching E-Bay for just the right car for my wife. I was wandering if anyone had any thoughts on weather or not the 06s were faster or better that the 05s.
Thanks DG
