Bone Stock 02 ZO6 at LACR
First Pass:
This was my first pass of the day and pretty much my first full pass i've ever made in the car. I raced this other dudes Z06 which put down over 400whp, he ran a 12.9.

Second pass:
I was disapointed with my 60ft so I figured i'd try to make it better, I launched it higher which didnt seem to help. I raced this LS1 camaro who ran 13.9 and blew his doors off even though he out 60fted me. This pass I screwed up and tried to do a burnout without turning off the traction control, and my helmet was making me all hot so I turned on the air for a second. It ended up that I guess I hit the AC because I wasnt looking, so I made this pass with the AC on. lol

Third pass:
Realizing I CAN run faster, I figued I'd try to launch lower so I don't blow the tire off like the other times, didnt really work. Since It was obvious I bogged off the line I tried to shift my best which helped a bit on the trap, but still was a slow pass. At this point I really wanted to get into the 12s.

Fourth Pass:
This time I was going up against a Supercharged SRT-10 truck Quad cab on slicks. Soemthing like 800-900hp.. lol Anyway, this pass I feathered the clutch out a little bit off the line to try to get it to leave better, which helped a bit, but I also shifted like a madman this pass. I was pounding the gears like a ****. The ViperTruck ran 12.474 and I was right next to him which helped me shift better (for some reason I race better when i'm losing) go figure...

Yes, a 12.7 at LACR in a BONE stock Z06 on tires shittier than stock. The stock Eagle F1 Supercar tires are better than the Toyo tires mine came with. An since I only got a 2.1 60ft it's obvious the tires wasnt what made me go fast. It was my m4d driving skillz.
Fifth pass:
I was already really happy with my day so I figured I'd go ***** out and try to go even FASTER. It didnt help that I was racing some 16 second camaro though. I eneded up blowing the tire off off the line, then missing 4th gear. I just shut it down after I missed because I knew the run was over. The time was still respectable I suppose for not finishing the pass.

But booya, I ran 12.7 in a stock Z06. A car that's supposed to do 12.5 stock, and I ran almost that at LACR (high elevation, shitty track). Not bad. I'm proud and happy with my time. I think with an intake and some drag radials low 12s are in my future.

I powershifted the 12.77 run. I think a 12.9 is the best the car would do with slow shifting.
I have no safety equipment though. Will I get booted running 11s without a rollbar?

The car I was totally unimpressed with was the SL55 prepped by Rentech - according to the guy it has a smaller pulley, headers & a tune and I saw it run a 12.55 @ like 113. Again, try to make it on Friday

Ahh, I was just saying that's what you ran that pass. I think you did like a 12.4 or something. It was also a bracket race. I guess it makes your car sound more unimpressive. Sorry. Wasnt my intention.

Plus I have probably 100s of passes at that track on various cars. Drag racing is just all I do. Are you going to come out to the corvette track thingie on the 4th of next month? I know how it is with more power, people don't get that most of the time. Like my friend with an MR2 who cuts 2.0 60fts on 205 drag radials and he does low 15s/high 14s. He out 60fts me but he only has 150whp. My 240sx has over 600hp and it barely does 11s on drag radials (2800lbs car), it's hard to get power to the track, the slower cars (like my Z) can do more with less power, the lower you go the harder it gets.
I'm only having traction issues in 1st and in the 1-2 shift (barely) i'm sure you are having MUCH more trouble than that. That's how my 240 was when it had a manual with a 350whp SR20DET in it, I could never get it to hook well, I ended up doing 13.4@112mph runs at best in a car that should do bottom 12s. You need slicks and suspension to take full advantige of a lot of power

I think i'm going to get longtubes and a vara-ram intake... I'm not sure if I'll keep the cats yet. Then MAYBE some drag radials. I hope with that I can get it into the 11s.
I hate how I do this, I only wanted 12s, then as soon as I see them, I look at 11s.

Sometimes it's fun going to just watch. I'd really like to go see your beast run though. That rentech totally sucked, he was talking like it would easy to an 11 second pass and he was running all slow. lol... My 12.77 was fast but I really didnt back it up with other fast runs, although it was the only pass I powershifted.
My other best was a 13.0..I honestly planned on running 13.4-13.5 out there. I guess the Z is faster than I give it credit for.
