Default Going to go nuts over this LS7 pressure plate..

I've spent the entire day in the garage trying to get this damn pressure plate in. I found 5 bolts holding the bellhousing to the back of the engine, and I managed to back them all out about a half an inch. However, the bellhousing will NOT budge. I'm seriously ready to scrap this god damn thing and go back to an LS6 clutch. Can someone PLEASE give me some pointers? I've never done anything to my Corvette before aside from change the oil, and I jumped into this head first. I have my engine all back together, I have my new transmission and my new rear end all bolted together and ready to go in, but I've had to put off finishing my car for yet ANOTHER week because of this stupid clutch. I am so pissed off right now, and starting to wish I had stuck with F-bodies.

not sure exactly what where your at but this may help http://www.vetteweb.com/tech/vemp_0506_clutch/
my mcleod twin disc was a bitch because of the size of the heavy duty pressure plate holding 2 discs AND, trying to line up 2 discs w/ the peice of crap plastic tool is impossible, I had to loosen the pressure plate bolts enough that the discs would move, put the whole driveline in place to line the discs up, tighten 2 bolts at oposite ends of pressure plate, then remove driveline, retorqe pressure plate then install driveline once more.... I did not have fun, the f-body was like butter compared to the y-body...

I left the bell housing on the torque tube and just took the motor out. It was terribly easy. But, I had to take the motor out anyway... I can see how this might not be a fun option if you didn't need to pull the motor.

Mike, you already have the entire drivetrain out of the car and the bellhousing is giving you trouble?

Haha, I know, retarded isn't it? I managed to pull it all with 2 broken ribs too, all hopped up on vicodin so I didnt scream every time I had to really pull something on my right side! I figured out that there is an extra bolt up there that I couldn't see. I took tomorrow off of work, so I'll be damned if I don't get it tomorrow!
