possible solution i might be trading in my cam only C5 6spd for a '05 or '06 C6 z51 6spd and doing the following mods. since i refuse to pay over sticker for a new c6 z06 im wanting a z51 c6 6spd, and motor wise, running ETP 225 heads/MS3 cam/LS7 or FAST intake and TB/ and other supporting mods. goal is 500rwhp.
exterior wise, if the price is reasonable, i plan to convert the outside to Z06 spec and run 18x9.5 black w/chrome lip wheels up front and 19x12 wheels out back...How does this solution sound?
Its either the above or looking for a used '02 viper GTS or '03-'04 SRT 10 and doing boltons and cam only.

i thought of keeping my c5 but i figured in about 2 years it's going to be outdated so why not upgrade that way i won't have to worry about the body changing for another 6 years...kind of like back in '00-'01 when C5s were pretty much common, the C4s began to look outdated and plain.
i just priced the total z06 conversion including painting, installation, and parts = 8k minus the c6 z06 wheels.
im going to go with aftermarket wheels & tires, don't know which ones yet and a H/C/I setup for the LS2 for around 500rwhp. im thinking H/C/I including parts and labor are about 7k. i figure the total pkg to be about $17-$18k, now i just have to find a c6 for around 42k and that'll put me at 60k for the entire conversion. that's a 5k savings for a c6 z06 at msrp and a 10k-20k savings for a c6 z06 sold over msrp @ 70k-80k.....
do you all think it's a good idea?
