Alot of it depends on how your credit is as far as interest goes, that will effect your monthly payments. For example, If you have average credit, you would get an offer (used car appx 9.5% on a 60 month loan)
$27000=$575/month
$32000=$680/month
$37500=$800/month

just depends. You can go onto the ebay website, look at a car and there is a link to "estimate your monthly payment" you can play around with that calculator to find your monthly payment, or at least a rough estimate. It'll let you put whatever price, whatever term (3yrs, 4yrs, 5yrs) and whatever interest etc and it'll calculate your monthly cost. As far as insurance, man, that depends on your driving record, age, where you live etc...I will say that when I first looked at insurance for my 04 Z06, I was extremely pleasantly surprised at how low it was. Just call around for insurance, and price shop. Some are definitely cheaper than others! Don't just automatically assume that the company that you've been with for years is going to be cheaper...most of the time, they have you at a higher rate than some of the others...Hope this answers your questions.

BTW, be very careful buying a car that has been heavily modded. This usually means that whoever owned it drove it pretty hard. This car maybe an exception, but I'd be very careful. They're selling it for a reason, right? I'd definitely not buy one this modded unless you've driven it and had it thoroughly checked out to be sound.

Good luck!

There was a super clean blk/blk 02Z06 (bone stock) with about 16k miles (if I remember correctly) on ebay that was sold for 31K. there are deals out there especially if you buy from an individual (vs. a dealership) Right now is a hot time for sports cars due to the season. If I were you (what I'm planning on doing myself also) is to set aside some cash over the next 5-6 months for a good down payment, by that time, it will be winter time, and you can find some better deals on sports cars (vettes in general) By doing this, you'll (1) see a decreased selling price, and (2) be financing less with a bigger down payment. So overall, you'll be reducing your monthly payment. Just keep your nose clean on tickets until you get your new car.

I got my 01SW Z06 with 51K on the clock for $25K. He had it listed for $26,900 and I talked him down to 25K and I put rear tires on the car. He had just replaced the rears.

Did you buy the one that was from Arlington? I had a nitrous line left on it?

I bought my 2003 Z06 blk/blk with 14K miles on it for 33K. I thought it was expensive, but I guess it wasn't that bad after all

God no. I got mine here local. The owner wanted a newer C5. I have seen the one in Arlington in pictures and knew to stay far away. It has been beat to ****. Mine was taken care of, not as good as I take care of it. But not beat to **** like that one.

Oh man, I shouldn't have looked at this thread.

I've been doing everything in my power to keep myself from getting a C5 Z06. I just checked Geico for an insurance quote on an '02 Z06... $135/mo. That's $5/mo more than my Camaro.

Must... control myself... don't go back into debt.... argh!

Actually, I take that back. I had a quote through a different insurance company at $135/mo. When I did the same quote with my '98 Z28, it came out to $151/mo.
