When my camaro first drove away I was a little sad, but honestly since I brought my vette home on Thursday I haven't given the camaro another thought.

Thats a Z51 package sticker on the side. I have more hp at the wheels than
the 06 Z06 for $25,000 less. You just need to find a guy that HAS to sell
his car for what he owe's on it like I did. Got it for $14,000 less then
he paid for it new just 8 months before.

Hey Ed, if your C6 had black wheels on it, we'd have the same car. Black Z51 with a magnacharger

Honestly, an f-body in good condition is still a very fun ride. My black WS6 Formula only has 10K miles on it (its a '98) and still smells like new inside, and drives like a new car. It also has heads/cam 12-bolt and the car is FUN. Most of you are probably comparing your worn out and loud f-body to a newer Vette

Been thinking about some different wheels or a good cam.
Have you seen the black chrome? If so what do you think about them on a
black vette?

Same here, well a little more than my 96 ss was but only $80 bucks more a year
than my wifes 02 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I would of thought it would of been high as hell but
it wasn't.

I loved my ss till the front end got knocked off by a F-350 one night, it never
was the same again, drove like crap and made all kinds noise. So I started looking for a newer SS and then it happened.
My brother came in town with his 04 Z06, went for a spin and it was over
for the SS.

Insurance on Corvettes is less than f-bodies.

I have both. 04 Z06 and 02 CETA. The Z06 is the most fun. It will power slide all day long with out trying. It has a lot louder exhaust on the inside than the Trans Am. No wheel hop problems and handles the road like a dream. Think giant go-kart. The weight differance is very noticable on the launch, in corners, and braking. You do get a ton of road noise however from the tires.

The Trans Am rides just a tad smoother. You can't beat the T-tops. It is relatively quiet on the inside at all speeds. The Z06 has a reasonance at 80 MPH. Plus the car looks like it is ready to kick A**.

This is why I kept the Trans Am when I bought the Z06.

I made the switch a few years ago. I happily drove my Trans Am for almost 5 years, modding it here and there. It was loud (long tubes with custom true dual exhaust). It didn't rattle near as much as many F-bods I had ridden in because I welded up the sub frame and added cross bracing when the car only had 3000 miles on it. The last mod I did to it was add some Bilstein shocks. What ruined it for me was when I got a chance to drive my mother-in-law's stock 2001 C5 coupe. All that time and money I put in the Tans Am, and it could not even compare to a bone stock C5. Within weeks, I was driving the 2003 Z06. I bought the Z06 used with 19,000 miles and found out that it had been repainted once before and the clear coat was peeling. Carfax was clean, so this was something either the dealer or the previous owner did with cash. Even though it outperformed the Trans Am hands down, I never felt the need to go out and detail it and keep it looking good. I also missed the T-tops. This is why 2 months ago I combined the best of both worlds and got a C6 Z51 coupe. 99% of the power and performance of my '03 Z06 with all of the luxuries of the Trans Am, including the translucent top. And with some Cadillac-like luxuries thrown in (navigation, Onstar, hands-free satellite phone, XM satellite radio, et. al.), my desire to just get in and drive it just for the sake of driving has returned. I haven't had that feeling since I first bought the Trans Am.

I'm a Vette man for life now. I'll be driving one as long as they let me keep my license and I can still get in and out of it.

Insurance went down with the Z06 and only went up by $6 a year going to the C6.

I'm 22 and I have "Progressive". They got me at $900 for 6 months just like the T/A. I thought for sure I'd be paying more. Might as well make the switch! I'm sittin here overseas banking money. I thought about selling my ws6 when I got home. Bout how much does a 02 ws6 m6 go for with 35,000 miles? Or should I leave that to another thread?
