Feeling Threatened
Feeling Threatened any of you all C5/C6 guys feel threatened by the new lux/sport cars coming about such as the Shelby GT500/Saleen S281E & BMW M6/MERC BENZ 63AMG line, etc...... It seems seems now like we're going to need c6z06 power just to run with them from highway rolls and at the track....That new M6 is trapping 121 and tops out at around 200mph, not even a regular C6 can run with that 3900lb car. The S281E traps around 120, the 63 AMG traps 120+ and they are all stock. 
After i do my heads/new cam i'll be trapping 123-124, but the cars above have the potential to trap in 125+ once they are bolt ons, which makes my car redundant on the highway. hmmmm...i think this is a sign/premenission telling me to prepare and start saving for the LS9 C7 or a 446ci w/LS7 topend components.

I don't feel threatened. With the money I saved buying an 8 year old car I could dump it back into a blower and call it a day. If I cared that much.

Ditto though. There will always be faster and better cars coming out, but if that is of utmost concern then it all comes down to the green in your wallet...otherwise enjoy what you got and why you got it!

Threatened? No. There's ALWAYS something/someone that's faster. Besides, who'd be scared of the Gt500 after the C&D or MT tests recently?? The BMW's and Benz's?? How often do you see those?
I take solace in the fact that for what we spent on "used" C5's we're left with much room to play without the gargantuan payments every month.
