2002 vs. 2004 Z06's

2002 vs. 2004 Z06's I sold my 04 Z06 a little while back, and although I knew I'd miss her, I didn't think that I'd constantly be wanting another one. Sooooo....I will be buying another one in the next few months. The cost of the 02-04 are very similar, and in some cases, I've seen a few 04's the same cost or less than 02's. I read somewhere that they're exactly the same from bumper to bumper, except for some suspension differences. Can someone tell me exactly what those differences are? Thx in advance!

There isn't much of difference beween 2002 - 2004 Z06. The 2004 Z06 have better set of shocks and has carbon fiber hood rather than fiberglass hood. I'm sure there are few more minor improvements but not sure what they are.

The shocks are revalved, and the headliner (2003 - 2004) has a bulge in it that runs across the roof from side to side that taller drivers heads hit it and makes it almost imossible to wear a helmet in them.
Only the Le Mans Commemorative Edition Z06 with the Z16 package will have a carbon fiber hood.
I have heard speculation (so take it at that) that GM leaned out the tune for 04's, but I have never seen any evidence of this and many 02 cars report better 1/4 miles times overall.
All in all, if you are not over 6'1", you probably will not notice any difference - all great fun!

My plan is to wait until Dec/Jan to buy, should be able to get better deals out there, don't you think? We'll see. The bug is biting.....and it's making my will-power go into shrinkage mode...
Thanks for the comments guys. just FYI...I also read that the 04's have a different fuel system, one that carried over to the C6's. What exactly the diff is, I have no clue. Maybe someone else could chime in.

Its a returnless style system and I havent gotten into it yet, but I have read that it has less potential as far as modding goes compared to the old style.
I would say if you can waite until winter you would find a better deal, but if you are like me.....
