Looking for a LS6 intake for my 97 C5. Got some ?s Though.
I have a 97 C5. I am looking to get some extra power out of it but getting an LS6 intake. My question is what year intake do I need. Do I need an Egr on it or no. I am kinda of clueless on this one. So any help you would be much apprecited.
All LS1s made in 2001 or higher came with the LS6 intake.
All the '01+ manifolds have the egr delete- identical to your '97 Corvette manifold.
Only the f-body (Camaro/Firebird) '98-'00 manifolds had a port in the front to plug in the egr. The Corvettes never had that hole. Don't worry about it.
Get the cheapest '01+ intake ou can find; it will be a direct bolt on for your '97 'Vette. ~Joshua

Awesome News! Thank you a ton. Hmm So now I just have to find a 01+ intake manifold. (off the Vette I take it) Can I use the LS2 manifolds or anything like that too, if so which would be best. I know the FAST is the best, but to expensive.
You can use an '01+ manifold from any Corvette,GTO,Camaro,Trans-Am, (they're all the same after '01 remember?)
You can use the LS2, but you have to get the 90mm throttle body with it.
I went with a polished Weiand manifold (aluminum)... you can use one of those too. Here's two pictures of mine. ~Joshua
