Default Changing rod bolts on an 04 Z

Is it a pain on the ***. Is hard to remove the oil pain. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

I personally think its a waste of time and money...run it till it blows or do the motor right all at once.

I've have an 04 Z too. Dont waste your time unless the motor is apart.
Youre good to go even if your over 500+ at the wheels.

So you think its not worth it? I heard they are a weak link when running at higher rpm's than stock. Figured could be some added saftey. If it blows not to worried, woulud just build a 402.

You have to drop the sub frame. Pain in the *** Just for some rod bolts. Others worry about the big end of the rod going out of round with the better bolts. Just run it like the others said. Keep the rev limit in the 6500-6800 rang and you should be fine. You would need a large cam to make much power above that anyway.

It was the pre 2001 rod bolts that were weak. The 2001 and newer cars got new rod bolts that are good for 6800rpm...I hit 6700rpm all the time..
