Looking at a 98 Vette... HELP. Ok, so... before you click the link and laugh at the TRANS AM WING on a C5 vette (im not sure whether to

) or the red sticker on the front quarterpanel.... just remember that wings and stickers can be taken off.
98 Vette, $8200...
The Selling price is listed as $8200... which makes me wonder... can ANY C5 vette be worth that little?? It says low miles, so, maybe its a salvage title? Are Salvage title Vettes that cheap??? Maybe it was a Typ-o and he meant $18,200. I've already sent the guy an email and asked him a couple basics that werent on the ad... mileage, M6/auto (pic looks like an M6), why the low price?
Like i said.. any help would be appreciated, i own a 98 TA right now, but im always lookin for a good steal on a Vette... Im gonna sniff it out and if it seems legit... anybondy want to buy a 98 Mystic Teal Trans Am

First of all I love Vettes. and I would never laugh at yours. In fact that one isn't nearly as bad as ones I've seen in the past. This one actually looks sort of cool. As for the price, yes a salvage title will be less the 10K easy. And a non salvage could be around 18K. After the C6 came out the C5 value went waaaayyyyy down. Do your research, and have fun. Just buy a Vette you will thanks yourself later...
Wow, i kinda figured the C5 looks sexy enough... yours looks damned good, Charlie. The wing, imo, is "meh"... If i get this it'll probably go. i like the wheels and body kit are pretty cool though. I hope the guy hasnt sold it yet, i wanna take a look at it in person.
Check the carfax report, check the frame, and use common sense. Other than that, the car looks realy good (less) the spoiler wich is not a problem taking off. The possibilities are endless with a car that inexpensive if everything checks through. Can you say 402ci........ good luck!

Take the carfax report with a grain of salt though. Look every square inch of the car over paying special attention to body lines and gaps. Look for overspray, make sure everything is straight. For that price, something seems fishy.
