Anybody messed with the shifter?
Anybody messed with the shifter? On the C6 and I assume the C5, the shifter uses 4 bolts into a housing that is secured with 2 torx screws. That housing on my C6 has 2 rubber dealios on the torx bolts that are tore up. I can move the shifter/housing side to side quite a bit. I've also noticed the linkage is loose. There is a seal, kinda like a front cover seal, that the linkage goes through. On my C5 housing it is there and nice and tight, on the C6 it is out and dangling on the linkage allowing the linkage to have some lateral movement. I can swap the C5 housing in, but I have no rubber deals. anybody replace these? I've heard you can't buy them seperate and have to get a whole shifter. I may take some poly bushings and machine them to fit. I can't shift this car worth a damn and I'm pretty sure I now know why.
