Congrats, I just picked up mine last week. I don't miss my Z at all(which IMO was one of the nicest in my area).

Granted it's not a "new" vette but I never thought at 26yrs old I'd be a vette owner

Thanks for all the compliments on the car. I love it!! I really liked my TA alot and it took a beating all the time. I just hope that this car can do the same. The part I like about the Vette is the feel. The car feels like it is on rails. Even just sitting in it feels like you moving.

It can take the beating. Mine does. It seems close to 100mph daily. (usually, unless i'm not feeling good) I know that sounds fast, but its pretty easy to get up to that speed, and the vette takes it like its pudding.

just dont freak out when a computer goes out on it. it will happen, i just got done replacing my EBCM about 30 minutes ago. Easy to do, and DONT GOTO THE DEALER, post up here, or ask me.

Yeah it is a 6 speed. The first thing that I have to concentrate on is getting rid of the ugly *** factory wheels. Then it is on for the drivetrain.

Congrats! I had my 99 black FRC for 1 month and broke a pushrod in half @ 5000 rpm! So it now has ported 243's and a F13 cam - bolt ons, ect. 401rwhp so far. If you do not do the motor upgrades soon I would think about some hard pushrods and some z06 or comp 918 springs for now. I know of 3 99 ls1 cars that have bent or broke pushrods. Not sure if it is the year thing or not?? Anyway good luck Visit corvetteforum.com also. Cya

my 99 z28 broke a pushrod when it was bone stock.

On the other hand... I have some comp 921 springs and thunder racing pushrods forsale in the forsale forum!

STLBLUES, your car looks good with those wheels. My TA was a 99 model and the valve springs got real weak in it. On the dyno at 5200 RPM it was losing like 35 HP. The first thing that I have to do is ditch the wheels and then I am going to start on the motor mods. I am planning on running the T-REX cam and a different set of heads.
