Default Vram installed

well the vette is no longer a virgin. I instaled a vram today. Not really a very hard install.

I took teh car for a spin and notice throttle responce was much better and it deffinately felt stronger.

I'm looking into headers then I'll get it tuned.

about 2 hours. I did not follow the instructions that came with it.

1. remove the old intake.
2. remove the baffle (the directs air flow to the radiator) remove the (7) 7mm bolts.
This will give you access to the fog light areas.
3. un bolt the 3 bolts holding the black plastic peice. You do not have to remove the fog lights to get the 3rd bolt you can push the brake cooling tube out of the way. (you'll see once you get started on it). Or you can do it like instructed by removing the access panel (still hard to get at though).
4. With everything out you can start putting the new system in.

Again, it's not hard, but I am accusomed to installing stuff. My camaro is extensively modded and I have done all the work.

although the vararam materially is a POS and is a PITA to install (took me about 2 hours as well, but there are so many tedious steps for just installing an CAI), the damn thing works well!!

I have to admite I was not impressed with the material used. But, it does work very well.

I totally agree !! I love the way the VaraRam system makes your car feel in cooler air temps. Just wait until you try to top out your car with the V-Ram system. Once starving for air, now you'll have plenty of air. My car pulls harder from 100- ??? then it does from 0-100. The ram effect is the real deal, but not really noticable until you are above 100 mph. Enjoy !! One last thing, get the K & N filter upgrade, VRams filters unless you have the new one are horrible. I have heard they replaced the old ones with a new "K & N" type. Either way, wash your filter regularly. Every 1000 miles or so, or at least check it. Everything gets rammed into the air box, newspapers, plastic bags, etc, etc.

yea definately grab the K & N filter for it. the original filter on mine broke apart and clogged up my MAF pretty quick.

I'd be curious to see some before/after track times with notes of the weather/DA.

My filter looks almost like a K&N filter. I should still change this out?

yea the filter that comes with it flows very well but is very brittle. if it hasnt broken yet, it probably will lol. and yes sir i put down only 260 with the Vram and catback, the A/F ratio was off as well as the timing. it was dynoed here in FL on a muggy summer morning which could have had an effect, but after tuning i was just over 300
