Broken FlyWheel, need help.
yadda yadda yadda,
I blew all the teath off my flywheel....
Please inquireing minds want to know what the yaddas' were?
Was it a stock flywheel?
Yes it was a stock flywheel. I just put in a new motor, tranny, rear-end and suspension. The car was still sitting on the trailor I used to trailor the car to get it tuned...I'm having an issue with the car. No one has any idea what's goingon. I start the car, it idles fine, but as soon as I put it in gear the car stalls, almost like you turn the key off...
I have had both problems on my 2000 C5. The flywheel (flexplate) shattered while going about 75 in 2nd gear (A4). The dealership ended up putting in a new engine, rebuilding the trans. The block in the back was shattered by the impact of the shrapnel. The starter mounting holes were obliterated, and the starter was dangling on its wiring. The tranny was also severly damaged. All in all about $13,700 for the fix. Thanks to my extended warranty my cost was only $100. The engine stall when putting it in gear is also a problem I just had. The fix ended up being a new steering lock motor, along with a new BCM. There is a safety feature programmed into the computer that will not allow the engine to run while in gear, if the sensors tell it the lock mechanism is not operating properly. At least that's what the dealership told me. Are you getting any info on the display? Mine read; "Service Column Lock". I hope your engine block is not damaged. I hope it all turns out good.
