C5 Throttle Body Question..

C5 Throttle Body Question.. When your Vette is off, is your throttle blade 100 % closed.? Do you have a 3/8" hole in the blde itself? I also have a rectangle hole off to the side that goes all the way through the throttle body, from the mass air side into the intake side. Is all of this normal. I think it could have something to do with my running issue..
The 3/8" hole in the blade is not stock. Stock the C5 TB doesn't have a hole drilled. Sometimes people drill holes in the TB blade to give it a lil more air to help idle if the tune is off...
The blade is open a little when not running. The computer will correct the angle during startup. There is usually no hole unless a cam has been installed. The hole is normal as it goes either to the IAC sensor or to the valve cover on the passenger side of the motor.

Well, the motor is a 408, with a crazy cam. I just noticed the hole the other day. And didn't know if it would hurt me.
Seen it done on alot of cars. Like the other gentlemen said, mainly when useing a large cam, to help with idle quality. If your still on the GM 78mm TB, the holes on the side are normal.
