Default TSP Headers Issue...

Hey I just got the headers but noticed something about the stock manifolds..in between the first two primary pipes on the drivers side and the last two primary pipes on the passengers side there is a "smog pipe" that runs behind the engine. What do I do with it being that the TSP headers have no connection point for them? Can I just remove it..i have a 2000 C5?

Just remove it at the front connection on the drivers side. You'll have to have someone turn the smog pump off, otherwise some error codes will show up. You can unplug the pump, located behind the front bumper cover drivers side, just below the hood opening.

there is only one smog pump, once disconnected the system doesnt work at all but error codes will come up. the smog pump is only used at start up anyway. your adding headers, so you will need it tuned regardless, at that time they can turn it off. my pump is completely removed from my car. all though all the hoses are still there to make it appear as if it were.

good luck otherwise, i hope you got the X-pipe option for this system. it will be interesting to see your final results with this header.

I just removed all of the pipes from mine. I haven't had a chance to tune the computer yet but it hasn't thrown any codes.
