Default question about procharger on a 97 c5

im buying a procharger and my 97 c5 has around 100k miles on it i heard my motor will blow up? true or false ? would i be safe or will i be ok? my motor seems to be running good

Nobody can answer this considering the 100,000 miles. There are so many factors to consider figuring into the eq. like service records, grade of fuel being run on for the 100K and its previous abuse. To be honest I would figure a new forged long block into your purchase. To be honest I only run 7lbs at "11.2AFR" and 15K miles and I sweat that from some of the reading I do here. I`m going forged wife will kick my *** if I blow it up.
You might be alright running 5/6/7lbs at the same time you might not be alright there is no way to tell unless you put the charger on
Good luck there are people doing it but most have plan B ready. Plan B gets pricey as expected.

Start with a leak down / compression test on the motor.

If everything checks out I wouldn't be too worried, but you do need to realize that refreshing the bottom end is a possibility.

Make sure you switch to a cooler spark plug (like an NGK TR6), upgrade the PCV system to prevent blowby (a PCV catch can and a valve cover breather), keep the tune and amount of boost reasonable by using a large blower pulley, and always run premium fuel.

You can also install a meth kit or run Torco for a bit of added safety.

I would look into replacing the valvetrain just to be safe while running some meth. Remember 90% of the time its all in the tune....
