140rwhp from only a set of headers, a tune and a CAI, must be some kind of a world record?

Head and cam guys, with normal bolt ons, have a hard time getting those type numbers. A current write up in GMHTP running the big MS4 cam is in that area and headers and tune and IIRC heads.

I'm not sure the reasoning, everyone has a different opinion but the pistons in the ls7 were designed somewhere around 30% weaker than the pistons in the ls2. That is why there are not a lot of aftermarket (SC/T/NOS) aftermarket parts popping up for the ls7. Than again, it's a beast stock!

Cutting costs? Warantee work? Who knows? I read it in a corvette publication and talked to a few LSX gearheads....

Yes,your #'s are right in the ballpark with your mods. Friend of mine has AR headers, tune and stock mufflers with CAI. He's at 490 on the ground too.
I'm still stock as delivered...with 468 / 427.

Hopefully when GHL releases their exhaust for the Z06 I can get closer to 500 rwhp ......Oh how long do you plan on staying stock?
