Default Walbro Pump for C5

Why cant I find any walbro pumps for my Corvette C5 Z? I remember when I had my camaro, I could easily find a site that sold the Walbro pump. I search westcoastcorvettes, A&A, Thunder Racing, Speed Inc, etc and none show the pump.

Can't I just buy a $99 Walbro 255 on ebay and throw it in there??

I really dont see the need to spend $300 at lingenfelter for their kit....or is it worth it?

I'm sure Racetronix has something to offer.

Actually I called thunder but all they have is a kit with pump and harness for $350.

Im just wondering why I cant buy the pump alone for $99. ?????? Hopefully someone will chime in that has done a pump install.

Check with Racetronix. Maybe they'll sell you just the pump.

I am torn between the LPE pump $299 and the Racetronics Kit $350...
I like the idea of the racetronics wiring set up (alternator direct, and redundant grounds...) but I looking to save the $50 if the LPE will do the trick for Spraying Nitrous up to 500-525 RWHP

Honestly I would go ahead and spend the extra money for the Racetronix setup. It would really suck if you blew your motor because you decided to save $50 on your fuel system.

Racetronix and LPE use the same physical pump. The difference is in the harness and what not. There is far more to a "safe" N20 setup than just a $300 fuel pump.

Larger injectors, window switch, etc.

its total BS that vendors won't sell you a $99.00 walbro fuel pump and they have to 'rebadge' it as their own and sell it for $299 or more. I've heard some stories about vendors scraping off the PN from the pumps so you can't reorder it from another place...

Why would they do that when everyone knows what pump they use in their kit?

It is easy enough to figure out but a lot of people, especially corvette owners, aren't worried about paying 299 for an 89.00 fuel pump mostly because I think they don't know any better.

You get more than just the pump for the 226 dollars. I know because I just bought one. It comes with the hoses and already in the plastic cradle. for me it was easier to just swap the entire unit and do it at night during the week to get teh car running again versus try to pull the pump out the plastic cradle and swap it.

There is no $99 pump for the C5 unless you want to hack the fuel system up. The C5 system is more complex than a F-Body system like many aspects of the car for many good reasons so that is not a fair comparison. If you want to maintain the important functionality of the C5 system you will have to spend a bit more money. Relative to most C5 HP items the cost of a HP fuel pump system at $250-$350 is inexpensive.

If you take a close look at the Racetronix system in detail you can start to appreciate what goes into it and why.
