Default resale value

ok so im having some issue's with my decision making.
i want to have full exhaust, stall and a h/c set up on my 99.
but im also afraid of the future. if i loose this job im at things will be tight and i might be forced to sell the car.
so will it hurt the value that much if i do these things?
my guess is yes it would kill it. but i have to experience in this subject

It will not hurt the value but it will not add much in value...you are always better off removing the mods and selling them off the car unless you find the right buyer.."nobody loves someone else'e hot rod" is a fact of life..

Last week I sold a '99 Magnetic Red witha FAST intake/cam/headers/ stalled auto. Along with some expensive rims.

The sound of that engine through the Borla Stingers sold the car. On the test drive two gears up to redline and they (husband 'n wife) wrote the deposit check within 15 minutes of getting back to the dealership.

They payed a fair amount but it's worth every penny and then some.

Mod your car only 1/2 of what you planned and enjoy it. Otherwise you'll never have a stopping point and then it'll *really* become a money pit.

Honestly, if i though I was in danger of losing my job, I would save up as much money as I could and then start modding. Its better to wait and have a modded c5 then to mod and then not have a c5. just my 2¢

yea i understand your point on saving which is why i have.lol but heres the situation. the company i work for just moved up here from texas. its doing well making lots of money. but, the people that own it are investors. and they buy and sale company's all the time. so it could get sold and moved. then im stuck with nothing.lol
i was thinking if worse comes to worse i could sell my truck. and buy a beater to have as a Daily Driver. which would work out. but then again, i can always buy another vette and keep my truck.lol dont know what to do.
im paranoid.lol
