gms is Gm supplier discount, basically GM's version of Fords A-plan for family of GM employees and its below invoice price. GID is the GM in the driveway plan which is similar to fords X-plan for friends of GM employees iirc its invoice plus 10%. GMS is sweet plus you can add rebates, gm card earnings if applicable.

They will not allow you to add your GM card earning anymore if my memory serves me. My dad tried to use his GM card with his GM employee discount and was told it is one or the other but not both.
You can combine GMS with rebates and incentives though.

GMS is EMPLOYEE not SUPPLIER pricing. There is a significant $$ difference. For example my 2007 Avalanche MSRP $37700, GM Supplier $34900, GMS Employee pricing is around $33,700. On a C6 its huge. Probably $10k since supplier is at least $6k. www.gmfamilyfirst.com has a link at the top to supplier pricing. There is a place to get GMS employee pricing but I cant find it.
All dealers at the corvetteforum will honor GMS I believe...non-z06 of course

Can anyone elaborate on the LS3...what's the main differences b/t the LS2 & LS3? I've also been told about the LS3 beginning in 08, and may be worth the wait if someone is considering an 07.

Looks like the 'secrets' have been well kept-all information is speculation. Here are a few comments found on the Internet regarding the 2008 model and the LS3:
Aside from some new interior and exterior color choices (read the full account after the jump), optional Z06-style chrome wheels and some manner of performance rear axle, the big news is the engine. And that is, a 6.2-liter LS3 producing an unknown horsepower bump. Enthusiasts have suggested the revised powerplant will likely turn out somewhere around 425 hp, and may be party to such materiel as direct injection, variable valve timing and displacement on demand.
LS3 Facts: 6.2L; 425 hp (base), 435 hp (Z51)
LS3 Rumors: may have Displacement on Demand
Engine:
It appears that the LS3 6.2L V8 engine is a go for the new model year. The LS3 is slated for the coupe and convertible models. Specs for the new engine have yet to be released, so we are still unsure what the horsepower rating will be.
Exterior Colors:
This is the last year for LeMans Blue. Rick doesn't think that GM will even carry the color through the end of the model year. Initially we thought that GM would be resurrecting Mulsanne Blue for 2008, however, it looks like they will instead introduce a new blue called Bluestream(RPO 85U). Another exterior color from 2007 will also replaced but we don't yet have confirmation on what that color is or what the new color will be named. We do know that Atomic Orange Metallic will be available for the 2008 Corvette.
Interior Colors:
Coupes and Convertibles will have 9 interior choices. It looks like all 7 that are being produced for the 2007 model will carry over to 2008 and there will be 2 new choices called 245 Sienna Custom Leather Wrap and 425 Linen Custom Leather Wrap. The Z06 Corvette will also pick up these interior combinations.
Options and Wheels:
Coupes and Convertibles will be getting a fourth options package, 4LT. So for coupes, you can choose 1,2,3 or 4LT and convertibles will offer 2,3 and 4LT. The Z06 is also picking up a new package of 3LZ. Unfortunately, we do not yet know what the packages contain.
Wheel choices are the QG6, the Split Spoke standard wheel, QX1, a Split Spoke Wheel in Competition Grey, and the QG7 Forged Polished wheel. No sign yet of the QX3 Chrome wheel option.
A different axle will be available on the automatic. GU2 is a 2.73 performance axle for the 6 speed automatic.
Lastly, a couple new RPO codes have shown up, but we are unsure what or how they will be used. They are NPP and CCR.

No its part of the pricing breakdown on new cars
MSRP
Invoice
Family and Friends discount (Same as GM Supplier - relative or friend)
GM Supplier (you must work for a company that does business with GM)
GMS Employee pricing (you must work directly for GM or close family I think but not sure.)
There also is currently a $1000 bonus cash available for Suppliers and finally on a typical $50k C6...supplier is about $6k off and employee is closer to $8k off. ANYONE should be able to deal down to Invoice at least at the right dealer on just about any car.

HOw about the cars that are advertised at lets say 43K dollars (48 msrp)
Would you get an additional 6 grand off the 43 grand for friends and family at 37 grand and 35 grand for the supplier discount?
Would the friends and family discount be off the best deal you've seen advertised? or just 6 grand off msrp?
Thanks in advance...
