Default Porting and descreening MAF

If I were to do this on a 2000 C5 what would the side affects be if any? I did it on my 98 Z28 and it didnt do anything but gain and I had no driveability issues. I want to hear it from someone who has actually done it on their car. I dont want to hear someone repeat things that they have heard. I keep getting mixed signals from members as some say good and some say bad but I can not tell if its simply word of mouth or from their own experience. Thank you.

It's all word of mouth, but I have heard it causes issues on the vettes, but the camaros and t/a's have had ok results. It was one of the first things I looked into, but after a bunch of searching on cf forum, they overwhelmingly said not to do it.

I have no screen in mine but cannot tell you about porting comparison. I can tell you that on the dyno my car lost hp going to a name brand maf. I would like to get a Z06 one though.
