yea thats what i was thinking about i think im going to do kooks LT's and X pipe and use a MS3 cam from TS 237/242, .603"/.609" and get the spring kit and pushrod package... my oil pressure and idle is only 35 psi and like i said earleir i have high mileage.... so how do you think this cam will so i would like to have 400 or 420 rwhp.. and do i need any other moods?
That's a pretty stout cam, so those numbers are in the range. If you are going to do Kooks, the 1-7/8" are recommended, because they respond better than the 1-3/4" Kooks according to Slowhawk my tuner. He's compared and seen them all. That power is the range I would figure, but you need ported heads to get you above that. Someone said high rpm cam and I agree. I don't start making power until I get above my torque peak at 4800rpm, so from 5000rpm on is when she starts to rock and roll. Looking at your lift, I would still recommend a Comp 918 spring, because a dual spring will float above 6000rpm. We've tested all of this before hand and you should safely see 6800-7200rpm with them. The maximum lift spec. is .600" but I've been running I/E .606"/.608" on mine for about 2 years with no adverse affects. The only thing you should be aware of is make sure the oil is hot above 150 degrees and you haven't had the car sit without running for too long, before going to high revs. Compressed springs over long periods, and cold springs will break, especially with the lifts we are speaking.
