C5 M6 to 4l60
Whats needed to do this swap.
How much would this help 1/4 mile times?
This is not an easy task. I would recommend that you contact Rodney at RPM Transmissions. They have done several of these conversions.
Going from an auto to six-speed is tough, I know as I am doing with the help of Dr Phil. I have talked to the guys at RPM also during this conversion. Going from a six speed to auto is 10 times harder.
You will need to re-pin and make wiring harnesses for your tranny, pcm and fuse box. There are approximately 20 wires that you would have to add not including all of the connectors.
Your ET could increase by a lot depending on your engine set-up and how your car hooks.
You would still have to do a lot of re-wiring. Heck, you could not even start the car as the crank circuit is in the clutch pedal and the park safety on the auto is on the auto tranny. Your cruise control would not work, back-up lights, signals, etc.
The tranny harness is the circuit that also controls your speed sensors.
Unless it's a track car only, the TCI controller won't cure your ailments.
