Default spec 3+ slave shim or not?

Anyone installed one lately? My old clutch let up to low to the floor so I'm hoping to avoid this by using the shim with the 3+. I have a remote bleeder so the slave will be fully blead.

After searching it seems like people like to use the adjustable master to bring the pedal up higher from the floor so I figured the shim would do almost the same thing.

I installed my spec 3+ about 8 months ago and talked to shane at Thunder Racing to ask him if the Shim was necessary or could i jus leave it off and he told me that the shim was needed to keep the pedal up some...he said i might need the adjustible master but chances are that i wouldnt. Well its been 8 months and i'am having no problems with the pedel being to low..Hope this helps ya

I installed my Spec 3+ with out the shim as specified by Spec. I have no performance issues. Works like the stock clutch.

Where is the pedal engaging for you guys not using the shim. I'd prefer a few inches off the floor rather that right off the floor. I know every car is different, but corvette's are such a pain to do a clutch in you'd like to get it right the first time

Did mine with out the shim and my pedal is real close to the floor.. guess I've gotten used to it but wish it was closer to the top.. Don't know how much the shim would raise it..

Did you get the hydraulics bled completely? I know it's a pain in a vette so just asking. The old fluid could have some air in it, etc and reduce the amount of throw the system has.

For the record the I installed the clutch with no shim on the slave. The pedal releases mid travel as others had stated above. Still breaking it in, but it's working fine.
