Vettes actually have a disadvantage from a dig, its when the speeds rise that the lighter weight and better aero come into play. IMO I think that my car because of traction issues is slower than a well setup F-body would be as far as ET. The car ran an 11.9x @ 119 with the stock trans/ and no stall and I would be willing to bet it wouldn't be much better now unless I could get the thing to hook off the line...stall makes it worse off the line! Alot of F-bodies out there would be running low 11's with a 119 mph trap. Which is one of the reasons I typically race from a roll...

Don't discount the weight distribution on a C5.The transaxle over the rear wheels helps a lot.Vettes need help in the traction department when equipped with the factory run flats. Drag radials really help. Auto4 vettes are limited to either 2.73 or 3.15 gears from the factory. The 3.15s are noticably quicker.Leave the throttle body alone.descreen the maf.Cold air intake will help and the Hooker catback ($365 from Autozone) is the best for the price. No vette tax there.Cams and heads are the most common mods.Chuck.

Why? The ZO6's don't have a screen and I removed mine with no problems or codes.Besides, you have to remove the screen to add a dry nitrous shot. The screen is an obstruction.

vettejr...I cant wait until you get a FRC. I want to see your impression compared to your other car and I want to see how it changes your opinion on street race outcomes on a certain board Lol, since im always defending the Vette over there.
