Installing corsa exhaust C5 Alright guys, I'm an Lt1 man as I cant afford a vette. But a friend of mines father has a C5 that he is purchasing a Corsa exaust and X pipe for - it's a stock manifolds car that he drives to shows. Now he wants me to put this on his car I've got the tools and the experiance but he mentioned that it had to ride over the rearend and back under to bolt to the X pipe - does anyone have a guide to do this with or any easy to know tips before I just say "Yeah no problem I'll do it!"
Ask if its OK to cut the stock exhaust. If he says yes then you'll save a lot of hassle. I installed mine in about 45 min tops by backing up on a set of ramps. If he doesn't want to cut (explain it isn't worth anything) you're going to have to jack the rear up about 3' for the over the axle pipe to clear. Some folks have to unbolt the sway bar but I was able to install without dropping the bar. As for the x pipe you're just going to have to get under there and mock it up. Also, install the over the axle pipe from the front to the rear, that way you don't have to worry about trying to get the flanges through.

to get my z06 stock mufflers off the car was a big pain in the ***...this was before I got my lift. I had to raise the rear waaayyy up in the air(even with the sway bar disconnected)....4 ft if I recall correctly.
after that installing my after market exhaust was a peice of cake

If you're going to raise the rear high enough to get the exhaust off in one piece, BE SURE to have the front end elevated first or you'll drag the nose. A buddy of mine was doing this and tore his nose up by jacking the rear too high.
As for the install, simple remove/install. Easy enough.
