HELP! problems with C5
HELP! problems with C5 ok i've had some problems with my C5 before but not like this... i mean sometimes my blinkers lights don't work and the brakes lites don't either.... but thats not the problem..today i filled my car up cost me 48 dollars (93 octane) and half way down the road my check gauges light came on and said i had no fuel... it said i was completely empty... has ths happend to anyone? how do i fix the problem? as alway thenk you for your help!
guage I had my guage go to empty right after filling tank to about 3/4. I went back, shut off the Z and filled it up all the way. When when I cranked back up all went back to normal. I have a 2003, my buddy had a 2004, same thing happened to him.
Very common problem on the c5's. The best remedy besides having the fuel sending unit in the tank replaced is adding some techron when you fill up or make sure you buy supreme at chevron.

My fuel gauge did that a couple weeks ago. Next time I started the car it was fine again. I was told the same thing about sending units.
Turn signal problems are caused by a bad hazard light switch.
If you click your hazards on an off a few times, the signals will work again. My do this, too. Didn't get around to fixing it yet.

thanks guys i was driving it today and it worked on my way to work then on the way home it stopped again so i think im going to have to take it to a dealership cause i have to know how much gas i have.... i just didn't know if it was something i could fix or if it was a simple fix i didn't want to pay all that money at the vette dealer these damn cars are so expensive to get worked on

I have had that problem. It is common to a C5. I was told by my tuners at Straightline Performance, New Lennox Illinois, to add the Techron, and change the gas cap. Apparently there is some venting mechanism that fails and the cap has a key component. I changed the cap for $19 from GM No trouble since them. I still use Techron about every 4th or 5th tank.
