Connecting rod numbering

Connecting rod numbering Does anyone know if GM scribed numbers on the respective connecting rods. I just pulled the pan on my LS6 to replace it with an F-body pan. I have to swap pans in order to fit my RX7. I noticed that all my connecting rods were numbered with the cylinder numbers. Can anyone that has had their pan off confirm this?

Re: Connecting rod numbering I cant confrim it, but i do remember one of the techs @ work sayin that they are numbered to their respective cylinder placements. If i get time, i'll ask tomorrow and get back to ya.

) Re: Connecting rod numbering Ok, talked w/ a friend who owned a 2001 SS, and he said as far as he knows, GM does not number the connecting rods. He never broke his open, and has opened quite a few, but he said as to his knowledge, they do not number them from the factory.
He however, said when he removes them, he'll "dot" them to know where they came from. 1 for 1, 2 for 2 etc.
