what rear gears are in the 6-speed c5?

what rear gears are in the 6-speed c5? I keep hearing that the 6-speed cars have 3.42s like the f-bodys. But all the upgrade companys say that 3.42s are upgrade from stock. So can someone tell me what gears come stock. Trying to get my mod list up for the c5 im getting. thanks
stock 3.42's.
I don't expect to change them either. As my horsepower increases,...the more I need less gear. Also, i've raced similar output vettes with 3.73 and 3.90 gears,...and, they both put me on the bumper, then I start to catch them, as they shift gears, I catch and pass them,....and seeing that in person, seeing the difference,....I won't change them.

3:42's STOCK
I went with 3:90's and in the 1/4 it will help but I will say as the HP goes up it makes it much more difficult to launch.... Just wants to spin... I have 315;s in the rear on the stock Z06 rims and its not easy to get traction.... However you feel the power when the gears I love it

Thats what I thought. Thanks everyone. What are some of the best mods to start with on these cars. I know alot about the F-bodys. Been building them for 12 years.

Good starting mods, Intake, LS6 intake manifold, Longtubes w/ OR X-pipe, Heads, Cam, Full 3" exhaust and a tune haha oh wait that's my winter build list. lol sorry. Intake, exhaust and a tune, maybe headers and LS6 intake if you get a '97-99.
