It is pretty easy, but the biggest thing is to take your time. You will need a hair dryer, a couple feet of fishing line, and some Goo Gone.

You start at one end by heating the adhesive tape from the top and bottom with the hair dryer. After a couple minutes of heating, take the fishing line and start to gentle 'saw' through the adhesive tape. The fishing line does not have to be touch the car door surface, but the closer you can get it the easier the later stages will be. It helps a lot having a second person gently pull back the molding as the other is 'sawing' through the tape. After about 4 to 5 inches of cutting, reheat the adhesive tape. Keeping repeating the heating and sawing until the molding if off. Once the molding is off, use the Goo Gone to remove the remaining tape off the door. The closer you can get to the dorr surface while sawing through the tape, the less tape will have to be removed with the Goo Gone.

I've done this on my previous C5 and my current Z06.

Goo Gone is useless, I even purchased some real Adhesive Remover, also useless. It just softened the adhesive and made it really messy.

Best thing is to just rub the adhesive off with your finger, its starts rolling up. Youll probably end up with a couple blisters but honestly on both of my vettes this was the best solution.

Hmmm.. that is kind of surprising. I helped a friend remove his BSM and Goo Gone took off the remaining tape/residue without any problems. I also used Goo Gone when I remove the rear emblem off my car.

I took mine off during the summer. The side facing the sun didn't even need too much heat from the hair dryer. It only took about 10 minutes to pull the moldings off. It was a couple hours of working at the leftover tape with car wax to get everything off. Looks much better now.
