Anybody find a better filter for this thing. I've had my Vararam on for maybe 3 months and its got a nice brown tint. I also caught a grasshopper with it. ![The Jester](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_jest.gif)

I use the stock paper filter as it filters are more efficently (keeps more stuff out) than any of the aftermarket filter that I know of. I simply have the lid off the stock airbox to make sure I get enough flow. Probably the best filter media in a filter that is out there is Donaldson's Blackwing. Donaldson is int he filter business, and most of their filters do a really good job.
I'm just not very hot on the oiled cotton filters out there.

Eric,
You might want to get hold of Patrick @ Vararam and have hm ship you out a K&N filter that fits the Vararam. I've got it on my car, and its great... I took one look at that foam filter, and decided it wasn't going to last me very long... I could read a newspaper through it!
