Default Questions about 2009 vettes

Couple of questions, if anyone knows...

1. Any changes planned for the 09 coupes? (ie 436hp going to 450???)
2. Will the Z06 still be available while the Zr1 is in production, or will there be 4 models of vettes (coupe, vert, Z06, Zr1)?

From what i have heard Doc, the o9's should be the same, maybe a different color or little things. I really don't think that GM will put much more money into the cars with the C7 coming out in 2010 or 11. I have heard though that the base C7 vette will have the 505hp LS7 in it. Then the ZR-1 will be tops. Maybe the Z06 will have 575hp or something, who knows.

Really!!!! Very interesting info. One side of me loves the fact that the vettes keep improving; but on the other hand, it makes me apprehensive to buy because once purchased, next years version is better, and 3 years later, they're much better....Grrrrrrr.

You have bad info if you think they will put a handbuilt engine (ls7) in a mass produced automobile...That engine costs way too much and very few are built compared to ls3engines.

Could it be that they're going to be mass produced, and not hand built? don't know what that would do to the quality of the product, but, who knows...

Good input though, thanks.

Guess that all the other motors they have in their cars and trucks are not built buy hand but by robots It is Chevrolets top of the line car. They will do what it takes.

Have to wait and see but that is what I was told by a GM at a huge Chevrolet Dealer that is #1 in sales in the US of Corvettes.

Can't wait to see what happens next. Cmon DocT just get another Corvette already. You know you can't wait to get back in the club. No matter how long you wait, theres always going to be something better.

I think everyone is WAY OFF after the recent passage of EPA mandated fuel economy increase. With the ZR1 only being a 2-3yr thing and GM previously acknowledging the demise of the LS7 by the time the C7 debuts I think GM is back at the drawing board as we speak. If not these cars will die not to mention the new Camaro. All auto makers are rethinking their products for 5 years from now and on.

The 430/436 hp base LS3 along with the freshened interior was the "mid-cycle" revision until the C7 comes out in 2011 as a 2012 model.

The only things you'll see change on the C6 are some colors and wheels.

They wouldn't have to use the LS7 to make 505hp. They could probably get that out of the LS3 with some tweaking.
