Couple C6 Questions.. Hey guys/gals.
I am looking at either this year or next year on purchasing my C6. What are some common issues with the 05/06's. Also, what are some good mods with considerable gains?

As for basic/effective mods, I would do a Vararam cold air intake, 160 degree thermostat and some dyno tuning to start with.
Oh and drag radials.
make sure the previous owner has already done the roof mod. The roof has a service bulletin out that the plastic separates from the metal frame. Mine had to be replaced 3 months after I got the car. Other than that the car is great.
No issues with mine at all in over a year of ownership. My mods took me from 337rwhp to 460rwhp and includes L92/L76 combo,mild cam,LG headers,midpipe,SLP loudouth2 exhaust,Vararam,and tune.All for $5k, but I sold off the old parts, so with install and all parts cost,I probally got about $2900.00 total invested on top of $40K car....not too shabby and running 11.4's @125mph in the 1/4 on stock tires.

I have an 05 Z51 mn6. Two issues, squealing brakes and dead battery syndrome. A battery tender and Optima yellow has cured one of those problems. As far as mods, my headers, tune/160 t-stat, Vararam and drag radials have been solid mods for performance. From stock, I've increased my 1/8th mile time by .9 and just over 10mph. Granted, some of that is weather and driver but the mods I've above showed the best gains. I've also got ported intake, 1.85 rockers, x-pipe with cats and cat-back for a total of 395rwhp/385rwtq SAE (dynojet numbers).

For the dead battery syndrom on the 2005 mn6, I thought all you had to do was make sure you kept it in reverse when parked.
Broke the button (got jammed somehow) on my A6 shifter once where it got stuck in Neutral/Drive. Couldn't take it out of accessory mode so the battery went dead. Also had a near fly-away painted roof experience AFTER I took it in for the recall. They didn't do it right where only half the roof got adhered properly. Thankfully, I have the dual roof package so it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. They replaced the painted roof with a brand new one after that.
Left front tire has a phantom leak. It will drop to about 20 PSI over a 4-6 week period. Took it to Goodyear twice, replaced the valve stem, checked for leaks - nothing. Very wierd.
Other than that, no major issues in 2 years and ~8500 miles.
