How come Vette's in the 380 rwhp range can dip into the 11 sec quarter mile? (I think it's the 11s)

properly driven f-bodys can do the same thing...... Its not about how much power you make, its about how much power you properly put to the ground.

Plus C5 are a couple hundred pounds lighter than an Fbody and that helps too.

350rwhp on mustang dyno=11.96 @117mph.

More or less it is the power to weight ratio. The vette is about 300-500 pounds less than f-bodies, depending on model. My f-body weighed in at 3560 at the track, I have not weighed in the vette yet, but average is around 3100 pounds, give or take a few.

Thats crazy fast, considering they put out around 300 rwhp from the factory. I think it's power to weight, and aero that play a big factor into it.

I think there are several factors that come into play ... I don't know if they make em or not, but if a 6 speed / 2.73 gear equipped vette was making 380rwhp, I'd think they would be a lot slower than an a4/big stall / 3.73 gear vette.

Mine runs 11.6's @ 118mph with 387rwhp. Then again, that is 387rwhp through a 3200 stall and 3.73 gears. Also, the tires help hook ... they are 305's.

Very true, I put my bolt ons only Z28 into the 11s (11.86) with only 335rwhp. Had some mild weight reduction as well but it still weighed more than the average stock C5.

Do not forget that track location plays an impact. Things like does the track run uphill, downhill, or level impact times. Then you have weather conditions like head or tail winds and the track DA at race time. DA takes into account elevation, humidity, temp, and pressure.
