Default The effect of a cam on mpg?

I know this has been asked before, but i'm starting to think about a cam swap and wanted to know how bad it affects gas mileage and what would be one to go with to gain at least 40 rwhp? I have a 2000 corvette coupe.

honestly, i had a 98 w/ a comp cams .566/.568 224/226 on a 112lsa and the only reason i saw mpg drop was cause my foot was in it alot more. I still drove the car daily and saw almost 20mpg averaged about 18mpg and was still at almost 30mpg highway. just depends on other mods as well, just get one its deff worth it
