Default Edmunds Claims...

Nissan GT-R will leave the ZO6 in the dust. It's kind of funny to me because they are in two entirely different classes anyways. GT-R is forced induction and ZO6 is naturally aspirated yet the two have similar times in the 1/4 and 0-60. Car and Driver rated the 2006 ZO6(link) at 3.4 (0-60) The GTR ran 3.5. Yet, edmonds claims it will beat the ZO6 (link of video).

I just thought I'd share this. I just think the media always leans towards the foreign cars always being better, this video makes it evident!

The GT-R still is an amazing car, I just think Edmunds went a little overboard with it's claims. The car still looks very bland and looks nothing like the Z06 or ZR1.

I won't put down the GT-R. I'm sure it's a pretty cool ride. I think it looks like a 350Z. I hate when the media spins the subject. The Z06 is a completely different car. Not to mention that the GT-R is worlds away in styling from the Vette. The media will always favor the foreign ride.

guys seriously i would never believe car and driver u would practically have to be an expert to pull 3 second 0-60 times outta either car. what did they say an 02 z06 is 0-60 in 3.8...lol i think not. imho the z06 will destroy the gt-r those cars are WAYYY hyped especially after movies like fast n furious...same with supra...while the supra in many ways engine wise IS a gt-r they have terrible turbo lag but wicked top end but still im sorry i just do not see it dusting the z06...put it this way while the z06 beats a ford gt i would be honestly scared to drive a car that would leave a car like the z06 in the dust

A Supra (15 years old now) is a GT-R (which isn't even out yet)....... Right.

So how was the drive in the GT-R? Nice? Please tell us all about the turbo lag!!! lol. Get real.

uhh higgs i was actually referring to the older gt-r if u werent such a hillbilly you could probably understand that. no fu*kin sh** the new gt-r isnt out yet i actually own a 97 gt-r and YES there is turbo lag i would rather my 02 z06 any day of the week over the gt-r...im sure the new one hasnt changed much at all...OHHHH NOOO 480 flywheel hp...big deal AWD is where they assume it will dust the new z06 im sure it wont get destroyed and im also sure it is fast in its own right but i have no doubt the 06 z06 will beat it maybe not off the line but it will run it down...also im not sure how edmunds rates these cars but rarely if ever are they right its always "mfr claim" until like scramblerman said wait till they test them

The GTR is quicker for the average user on street tires because it's AWD. The Z06 is faster with 125+ trap speeds compared to GTR's 121 mph.

Just keep in mind that they are trying to validate the other cars. Everything is compared to the Z06 for a reason. It's the sweetest car there is.

If you beat the Z06 in your GT-R, you're still driving a Nissan.

Also, the GT-R will be in such high demand with low production numbers that the price to obtain one will be much higher than a new ZO6. At least for the first year. With the money one will need to spend on a new GT-R, imagine what you could do with a ZO6.

we have to take in to consideration that they test drove that car in japan where their government laws towards auto manufacturers are not as strict as here in the us. and also i would say that the zr1 is the one that are kind of in the same level

lol bro no way is the zr-1 on that level the zr-1 is ridiculous i have no clue what would be on its level but certainly not a gt-r...were talkin 650 flywheel hp and sub 3000 weight...i just dont understand why they would build that thing its ridiculous that seems to be a little too much ya know...it seems like every new model of vette that comes out is chevys fastest production corvette and here i was ready to get a c6z06...i think i still probably will though because when the zr-1 comes out the z06 price will drop

Please point me to a valid source stating that the ZR1 will be less than 3000 lbs.

Read a similar article (Road and Track or Motor Trend), it states between 3300 and 3400 for the ZR-1, but they write 3350 b/c they don't know yet.
